First USA Kennel Group, Germany,
International Sieger Show

The select young Steffen-Haus dogs are sent to our trainers in Germany, entering this program at the age of one year.

All of our dogs are 100% West Germany lines. All of our dogs here at Steffen-Haus must compete for titles in Germany under the very rigid requirements set down by the German Verein fur Deutsche Schaferhund (SV) and the WUSV, to meet the World Standard for the German Shepherd Dog. Before the dogs may be used at Steffen-Haus for breeding, they must...

  • Be x-rayed for soundness of hip ("a" stamp)
  • Complete the BH temperament test
  • Pass the 20 km endurance test (AD)
  • Earn at least one working title in Schutzhund (SchH), involving obedience, tracking and protection
  • Compete at a conformation show to achieve a show rating
  • Be presented at the Korung (Breed Survey) to be carefully evaluated as to their adherence to the World Standard (correctness of structure, proportions, type, movement, sexual characteristics, temperament, etc.)

All of our breeding stock have received the KKl-1a title which is the highest rating. We have currently finished to full title (Schutzhund and Show) over 263 Steffen-Haus dogs in Germany, and presently have 22 youngsters working for their titles in Germany. We are very proud of this accomplishment, which is unequaled by any other USA kennel.

Steffen-Haus Zuchtgruppen (Kennel Group)
Placed 9th at the 1997 German Sieger Show Dusseldorf

Critique Messler & Buss: "This group meets the highest level of difficulty with very good uniformity and individual dogs of very good quality."

Steffen-Haus was very proud of this prestigious award and to be the only USA kennel in the 21 entries.

The absolute uniformity of this group from six different sires indicates the strong female imprint that Steffen-Haus is famous for.

SchH III, KKl-1a, Lbz. "a", OFA GS-EL5363-T (elbows) DNA

To earn recognition of your breeding program on an international level is of course the ultimate goal. In 1994 our own USA bred, born and raised Bravos vom Steffen-Haus was shown at the International World Sieger Show in Bremen, Germany. Our class had an entry of 397 dogs in which Bravos earned the title of VIZE JUGENDKLASSE SIIEGER becoming the first American bred dog to ever achieve this International award. This prestigious placing received world wide recognition that Steffen-Haus is a contender on an International level.

In another first, "Bravos" represented the United States and Steffen-Haus at the 1996 International World Sieger Show in Karlsruhle Germany with the first American owned and bred male having a Progeny Group. Although the oldest "Bravos" get were only 15 months old, young dogs coming from Norway, South Africa, Denmark, Germany and America were there to represent their sire. The group received a standing ovation which reflects the World Wide recognition that Steffen-Haus has achieved.
